The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.
This was the sky this past Tuesday in Houston, Texas as several hundred women made their way to the ‘Door of Hope’ women’s fall event at Tallowood Baptist Church . After a day of wind and rain that brought in cooler temperatures, God painted the sky with magnificent shades of color…It was absolutely unbelievable!
The message: Hope, not as the world gives, but Hope that is Unshakeable, Eternal, Forever…Jesus.
I was honored to be part of this amazing night. It was a privilege to share our personal story of Hope..even though at times it still seems pretty messy! God showed up and it was truly overwhelming.
I know for me however, I woke Wednesday morning exhausted, both physically and spiritually. I think for many of us that are facing ‘trials of various kinds’, Tuesday was a reminder that THE BEST IS YET TO COME… but upon waking Wednesday morning, it was necessary to find those “Eternal Lenses” once again…and arm ourselves for battle!! I put both feet on the floor knowing that the war was still raging…Warren was still not here…my heart was still broken into a thousand pieces, we were still facing another day longing for eternity, and I just needed Jesus to be enough…again!
I wept, I begged God for relief, I worshiped, I sat quietly and I waited…It was a hard day…I cannot lie.
Of course God did provide relief…I had lunch with my amazing husband under the most beautiful blue sky!!
And one of my dearest friends on this journey began a landscape project in my front yard that made me “feel” happy because it was making something that looked so ‘blah’, look so ‘fabulous’!!
He provided..and I was able to rest in His promises
So…that’s where I have been the last few days. I love what one of my “sisters-on-this-journey” said on Facebook after hearing the message Tuesday night:
It’s just the truth until He returns!!!
Until that Day, here is what I will continue to “preach” to myself…
Jesus IS Enough for TODAY!
Give us TODAY our daily bread. (Matthew 6:11)
Jesus Christ is the same YESTERDAY, TODAY, and FOREVER. (Hebrews 13:9)
I pray that your hearts will be FLOODED with LIGHT so that you can understand the CONFIDENT HOPE He has given to those he has called- His holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
“All I know is I’m not home yet
This is not where I belong
Take this world and give me Jesus
This is not where I belong”

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. – Romans 15:13
God is the only one who can make the valley of trouble a door of Hope. Hosea 2:15
Joy is the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quiet confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright, and the determined choice to praise God in every situation.-Kay Warren
